About the Artist

Update: I'm currently enjoying a long break from running a business to spend more time with my two little girls and enjoy the traveling and other spontaneous things that arise with my husband's business. We're getting to see a lot of this beautiful state during the summer and get to stay together! I will always continue my education and personal prjoects with my photography, coming back into running a business when (and if) I feel the time is right for my family... Thanks for all of your support!

Photography isn't about a camera. It isn't about posing. It isn't about your perfect "picture smile" (I know we all have them, you should see mine!!). Photography is about appreciating the lives we have and the people we love. Sometimes it's about celebrating a quiet monumental moment (rubbing your new baby's toes for the 100th time), a sacred ceremonial moment (exchanging your wedding vows), sometimes it's about a loud blasting gaudy delightful moment (remember your last year of high school!?), and sometimes it's about sharing your attachment to each other with the rest of the world (have you ever had a family portrait you all enjoyed?). I've enjoyed spending time with people my whole life, I've always been so curious about others, an important part of my job is to get to know you...

In the last year I've started booking appointments for longer times so I can enjoy the people that trust me with creating their portraits. The types of work I pursue is reflected by this - the images I create for you come from the years of experience, education, and experimentation I've had the joy to become familiar with. I'm always seeking new ideas and new methods, always looking to amplify and nurture my creative flair. What's in my heart comes out in my work, I'm always striving to let that out and create something a bit different for you.

I'm so thankful for all the support and encouragement my clients have given me from the beginning in 2000, every year I feel stronger about stepping out of the mold and going in different directions - truly I thank you for that freedom and your love of art which allows me to do what I do and call it "a job!"
